Free tool · Price Increase Announcement Kit · about 20 minutes Letter. Script. Follow-up.

Six inputs produce three things: a short client letter, a conversation script with prepared answers, and a follow-up note. The page flags vague wording and keeps the tone confident, not apologetic.

Check your contract for any notice period and take advice from a qualified professional if you are unsure what it requires. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Your announcement kit

Then test it

Speak first, write second. Hold your first three conversations with your largest clients before any letter goes out, and note which objection comes up most.

The method is in The Brand Code: A Price Rise Is a Communication Task, How to Announce a Price Increase to Clients and Price Increase Announcement Kit. To test the number first, use the Price Rise Calculator.

Questions

How much notice should I give?

Enough for the client to plan: often thirty to ninety days, longer for annual contracts. Check any notice period in your contract.

Should I apologise?

No. An apology signals the rise is unfair. State the change, the reason and the choice calmly.

Who should I tell first?

Your largest and longest-standing clients, in a personal conversation followed by a written summary.

What if a client asks for the old price?

Offer the option you prepared, and apply the same terms to every client.
