Free tool · Interview Guide and Question Bank · about 20 minutes to prepare Better questions. Better notes.
Name who you are interviewing and why, choose six to eight open questions about the past, and the page assembles an opening script, a question list, a notes table and a pattern check.
1 · Who and why
2 · Your questions (choose six to eight from the bank in the post)
3 · After five interviews
Ask permission before recording. A small thank-you is fine but never make it a condition of honest answers. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Then test it
Interview five people. Mix recent clients, prospects who did not buy and people in your target group, then run the pattern check.

Questions
How many interviews do I need?
Five to ten usually show clear patterns. Stop when new interviews stop telling you anything new.
What makes a good question?
It is open and about the past: what happened, what you tried, what nearly stopped you.
Should I interview people who did not buy?
Yes. They often give the most useful answers.
Can I do it by email?
A call gives better material, but written questions are better than nothing.
Is my page saved?
