7 · Owner and measures

This is a brand and go-to-market tool, not legal, tax or regulatory advice. Take advice from qualified local professionals on structure, licensing, tax and compliance. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Your market entry brief

Then test it

Test the brief. Open your website as a buyer in the new market. Can you see the permanence signals: a place, a person, a registered entity, a response time? Then check every proof point is something you can show today, or a pilot you have planned. Never imply local results you do not hold.

The thinking is in The Brand Code: Nigeria Rewards Companies That Look Like They're Staying, How to Enter the Nigerian Market and Market Entry Brief Template, published on 26 October 2026. Questions

What is a market entry brief?

A one-page plan that forces seven decisions before you spend money in a new market: the first buyer, the position, signals of staying power, local proof, price, channels, and who owns it.

Can I use it for a new segment, not only a country?

Yes. The same seven decisions apply to a new city, sector or customer type.

What if I have no local proof?

Plan a pilot with one or two local customers, agree the wording in advance, and say honestly what you have done elsewhere. A stated gap earns more trust than a hidden one.

Do I need a local partner?

Often, local advice and context matter a great deal. Decide it in the brief, with a named person.

Is my brief saved?
