An explainer that makes a decentralised exchange feel easy.
01 · Overview
A 3D mascot that walks new users through trading on PancakeSwap: concept, character design, animation and sound.
PancakeSwap is a decentralised exchange on BNB Smart Chain, where users trade tokens, farm yield and stake. It wanted an explainer that simplified trading for new users and entertained seasoned traders at the same time.
Mike Bruce Design took the film from concept to final cut.
02 · Challenge
Teach a complex process without losing the viewer.
The video had to hold attention while explaining account setup, wallet connection, token swaps, liquidity and fees, and stay true to PancakeSwap's fun, dynamic community voice.
03 · Solution
A guide the audience wants to follow.
Research into the audience and the platform pinned down the features worth showing. A storyboard set a logical flow from setup to swap to liquidity.
A friendly 3D mascot carries the viewer through the platform, interacting with the interface as it demonstrates each step. Animated text and icons break every action into digestible pieces, with seamless transitions between scenes.
Sound effects matched to the mascot's actions and an upbeat score complete the brand's personality. The cut was refined with PancakeSwap's marketing team.
