Why it matters
In G2's March 2026 survey of 1,076 B2B decision-makers, 51% said they start software research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, and 69% said a chatbot led them to choose a different vendor than they had planned. AI answers name only a handful of companies. If you are not among them, you were not in the room.
AI recommends what it can describe with confidence: a consistent description, corroborated by other sources, clearly linked to the buyer's problem. Read How to get your business to show up in ChatGPT for the nine steps.
Questions
How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my business?
Ask it the questions your buyers ask: who the best providers are in your category and market, and who to talk to about the problem you solve. Run the same prompts in Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, and score whether you are named, described accurately and recommended.
Why do different AI assistants give different answers?
They use different training data and different live search sources. That is why the check runs every prompt in four assistants.
What is a good AI visibility score?
Above 50% means you are on the shortlist for at least some buyer questions. Above 75% means AI describes and recommends you consistently.
How often should I run the check?
Monthly, with the same prompts, so you can see change. Re-run it after a rebrand, a new website or a move into a new market.
Is anything sent to you?
No. The prompts are written in your browser and your scores are remembered on this device only.
