01 · Overview
A mobile platform that lets healthcare professionals monitor TB and HIV medication adherence in real time, designed for every level of digital literacy.
MedAdher is a mobile application for tuberculosis and HIV disease management. It helps healthcare professionals monitor patient adherence to prescribed regimens and gives them insight into treatment outcomes.
The client is confidential. The product had to serve medical personnel and patients alike.
02 · Challenge
Treatment only works if patients keep taking it.
TB and HIV treatment demands strict adherence, and keeping patients on schedule is hard. Providers needed to track adherence in real time, report on outcomes and support patients with reminders.
The interface had to be intuitive for users with very different levels of digital literacy, and the product had to meet healthcare standards for data security and patient confidentiality.
03 · Solution
Research with clinicians and patients, then a product built around three tools.
Research with healthcare professionals and patients surfaced the essential features and the pain points of each group. The strategy prioritised adherence monitoring, easy navigation for medical staff and detailed outcome reporting.
The core of the product is an adherence calendar with daily, weekly and monthly views, an outcome dashboard showing whether treatment is working, and automated reminders and alerts for patients and staff.
The app was built with agile methods on a secure backend, then tested and refined through beta rounds with providers and patients.
